MESA FUND CoCo Update: 9/15/06 GALT received a call Wednesday, July 26, saying a greyhound had shown up on an animal lover's ranch near Ardmore, OK, the Saturday before. The greyhound was emaciated and very ill. Joni Beamish, a wonderfully talented ceramic artist called to say her sister (the animal lover) was headed to DFW with her. Please meet CoCo she is almost three years old, and is the G dog in a litter of seven of which four were registered, but she was not. She weighs 44 pounds. She is heartworm negative and negative to all tick diseases - amazing - and had not eaten a bite since her arrival. CoCo is in the care of Dr. Jeff Ellis, who determined the next day that she needed a blood transfusion, and Fleet Cody came to the rescue. She also received intravenous fluids, and at 4:30 on Thursday she was eating chicken and rice! Please keep CoCo in your thoughts!
Update 9/15/06 Update
8/25/06 I am told that I am going to be a very pretty girl real soon. My coat still needs some brushing, and I have some bald places that still need to grow hair, but I have lost most of the fuzzy coat. Life sure is nice here in a home instead of being out on my own and alone...it sure was scary out there. I am learning about stuffie toys, cats, squirrels, dog beds, ear scratches, and good-night kisses on my head. All these things are great fun! Thank you for helping me get better, and hopefully very soon I'll be ready to start looking for my forever home and family!! Update
