ADOPTED TO HER FOREVER HOME

Trixie is a cute, 6-year-old fawn female greyhound, born March 19, 2003. Her sire is Oshkosh Slammer and her dam is Ranted. Trixie is the B pup in a litter of two, however neither greyhound has been individually registered. Trixie arrived with Zorro on May 1, 2007, from the Ft. Worth Animal Control, where they had been confiscated from horrid conditions. Trixie arrived heartworm positive, positive to Ehrlichia, and pregnant - however her pregnancy was not immediately detected. Because she was so thin when she arrived, Dr. Jeff Ellis of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital wanted to wait for her to gain some weight and stabilize prior to starting the heartworm treatment. Within 2½ weeks of her arrival, it was apparent after a sonogram that Trixie was carrying at least 8 puppies. (Zorro is indeed the father!)

Trixie is GALT's first greyhound to have puppies in our possession...and puppies she had – eight of them. Now finally - A YEAR LATER - Trixie has been successfully treated for her heartworms and Ehrlichia!  She is one cute little girl, as she "smiles" when she sees you!

Trixie is the only pet in her foster home and loves getting all the attention. She is not cat or small animal tolerant.
