Five Incoming Greyhounds!
Marian and Lonnie Jones, GALT's West Texas Representatives, were contacted December 16 to take five greyhounds from a coyote hunter in Amarillo. This is the same man that Bryn, Vivie and Nikki came from. Instead of turning them loose, he now contacts GALT.
There are two boys and three girls:
- Davis – an approximately 2 to 3-year-old fawn male – not tattooed, but full greyhound. GALT was told his parents were NGA-registered greyhounds, and he is a sibling to Kelly.
- Kelly – an approximately 2 to 3-year-old fawn-and-white female – not tattooed, but full greyhound. GALT was told her parents were NGA-registered greyhounds, and she is a sibling to Davis.
- Noel - 1½-year-old black female, born June 13, 2008. Her sire is Kiowa Sweet Trey, and her dam is Sunsands Tru Blu. Noel was not an individually registered pup in her litter. Noel’s liver values are off the charts, and she is very jaundiced. She is being treated accordingly and watched carefully by Dr. Christy Soileau of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital. Noel is in one of GALT’s critical-care foster homes.
- Nick – 2-year-old black male registered as Sharp N Witty. His sire is Super Lee, and his dam is Pearl Hart, making him a full sibling to Little Eva.
- Joy – 1½-year-old black female, born April 7, 2008. Her sire is Inspecda Deck, and her dam is Hush Hush. Joy was not an individually registered pup in her litter. Joy is being treated for low platelets and is in a foster home.
Medical procedures will begin on Davis, Kelly and Nick after the holidays. Joy and Noel are undergoing treatments individually at this time.
