Barry Barry

Barry, aka Mulberry Inkspot, is a 2-year-old white-ticked red male, born January 20, 2005. His sire is Iruska All Star, making his grand sire P's Raising Cain, and his dam is Miss Alaina. Barry's racing career was a short one - beginning January 14, 2007, at Valley Race Park in Harlingen, and ending March 17, 2007, with a Grade IV central tarsal bone fracture in two places on his right rear leg.

Barry, along with Goldie, was transported within two days from Harlingen to Austin, and then on to Dallas. After evaluation by Dr. Jeff Ellis at VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital, Barry was referred to Dr. Bob Radasch of the Dallas Veterinary Surgery Center. Dr. Radasch stabilized the hock with several screws. He expects Barry to have no long-lasting problems that would hinder his quality of life as a companion pet. Barry's cast was removed 5/8 and an x-ray was taken which shows the bone to be healed. Barry is ready for his forever home and family!

Barry has now been cat tested. Barry was rather excited once he saw a cat dart across the floor. Later, he sniffed and took a snap at Slate. Fortunately, there was a muzzle between them. Slate was not amused. While not intensely intolerant, he is not considered cat trainable. We will test Barry with small dogs at a later time, if necessary.
