GALTX

Dalton is a 4 year old brindle male born in 2013. He was part of the population from the blood bank facility located in Cherokee, TX that closed in November 2017. Dalton will complete his medical procedures soon. Dalton is considered to be cat tolerant. Please check back periodically for updates on Dalton's journey to his forever home.

Dalton is beautiful, sweet, smart, brindle boy; on the small side for a male greyhound. Recently we checked his weight at 57 pounds. Dalton is working on his house manners, and while he’s progressed, there is still more work to do. We are working to curtail his counter-surfing; and he has a tendency to give little notice that he needs to go outside to potty. We feel that could be resolved if his forever home has a doggy door; he will easily learn to use it. He is child friendly, cat friendly and small dog friendly. He’s a bit shy initially, and once comfortable he comes for attention quickly. He is a social butterfly in public, wagging his tail and enjoying being petted. We believe that he could function well as an only dog or as a member of a greyhound pack. He seems to have a low prey drive. So far Dalton doesn’t play with toys though he LOVES his food and treats. He takes his treats to his bed to minimize crumbs around the house. All he needs is a human to love him and a soft bed to sleep on, as he doesn’t get on the furniture. He’s traveled extensively with us in the car and has excellent car manners, lying down and staying calm. Dalton’s ideal person will have lots of time to pet him, love him and make him a part of their life. In return, his family will have his unconditional love.
