Sugar

Update: 10/1/05

Sugar is a sweet, sweet 5-year-old black female, born in March 2000. Sugar came from the Waco Animal Shelter where she was turned in as a stray. Although her right ear is legible, her registration ear has been double tattooed. Sugar is heartworm positive, and her treatment started June 6. She will go back in 30 days for two additional treatments. She is one sweet, loving little girl. Her foster mom is taking very, very good care of her, and keeping her quiet during these critical days. It is not known at this time if Sugar is small animal or cat tolerant.

Update 10/1/05
As luck would have it, Miss Sugar went into her heat cycle the last week of August. Her spay is tentatively scheduled for the middle of October, at which time she will be retested for heartworms.

7/12/05:
Sugar received her second treatment for heartworms last week. She seems to be tolerating the treatment very well at this point. It will be another 60 days before she will be rechecked, and hopefully the results will be negative.
