Oprah is our first "chip" hound. She is a retired brood matron and blood donor so she has worked most of her life. We adopted her in October 2005. What can I say about this beautiful girl? She has the sweetest smile, most beautiful dark brown eyes, white face and can bark orders with the best of 'em. Patrolling our enclosed front yard and keeping it pest free is her mission, although she loves a passerby to stop and visit a while, especially if she can be petted.
Oprah loves to go on her morning walk and will not let you forget...8:30 am...everyday...rain or shine! When she goes for a run with her packmates, Oprah never wants to be in the lead because she wouldn't have anyone to nip and bump! If she is too far behind she will turn on her turbo charger and catch the leader! You would never know she is a ten year old during one of her races! Another favorite pastime is stomping stuffies and just acting goofy.
We love Oprah so much. She always brings a smile to my face and a tug to my heart! People ask why we would adopt an older dog since we might not have much time with them, only enough to break our hearts when they pass. I tell them it would break my heart not to have time with them now and love them for whatever time we do have together. It is only fair that senior hounds enjoy the good life they deserve!!
