Good News! We have met the total funds pledged by the Kerpers and our anonymous donor - which means that we have raised $20,000 for the care of the Ft. Worth greyhounds. Thanks to everyone for your generosity and support!!

Shadrock & Friends Memorial Fund

Julie and Matt Kerper, adopters of Zac and Triscuit, have made a commitment to GALT’s greyhounds to establish a matching fund in memory of their beloved first greyhound, Shadrock, aka Figs Shadrack, who traveled to the Rainbow Bridge much too early.

For every dollar donated to the Shadrock & Friends Fund, Julie and Matt will match that dollar up to a total of $5,000. The proceeds from this fund will be designated for medical costs of GALT’s Injured Reserve Greyhounds. By reaching the total goal of $10,000—$5,000 from the Kerpers and $5,000 from Shadrock & Friends Fund—GALT will be able to cover numerous costs associated with traumatic injuries and advanced medical conditions of those greyhounds in need.

GALT is asking its friends and membership to go an extra lap for adopted Greyhounds and their families.

Sometimes situations get tough for GALT Greyhounds and their adoptive families due to costly emergencies or other financial reverses. The Board of Directors would like to establish a fund for emergency expenses to help GALT adopters in need. GALT is asking you, as a Greyhound lover, to donate $10 toward establishing a fund for this purpose. Likewise, GALT is soliciting funding from established foundations to match what is raised internally.

If you would like to donate more than $10, increase the quantity you select to get the desired amount.

House A Hound

Help GALT's hounds waiting for their forever homes by sponsoring their boarding at a kennel. GALT currently boards dogs at BARK (McKinney) and Houn' House (Carrollton).

The average stay for an adoptable hound is approx. 4 weeks which allows time to complete vetting and general health/personality assessment before placement in a foster home. GALT's daily cost to board and care for hounds not in foster homes is $12/day with an average of 12-15 dogs being boarded at these facilities.

Miss Mesa Donation

Miss Mesa, aka Mesa Red Babe, is the first greyhound adopted from GALT to make the journey to the Rainbow Bridge. It is in her memory that this fund was created.

Contributions to this fund will be used to pay the cost of medical care for those GALT greyhounds with special medical needs.
