Aubusson Greyhound Pillow - One Standing - One Resting
 This stunning Aubusson 22” square pillow features two greyhounds, one standing and one laying down, in shades of taupe and cream with soft green accents. It is trimmed with attractive fringe and backed with soft velvet which has a hidden zipper for easy removal of the feather/down insert which is included.
Aubusson is a style of tapestry weave (a flat weave) which originated over 300 years ago in the small town of Aubusson, France. Originally, large rugs and wall tapestries were made using this technique and, because it is so labor intensive, only the very wealthy could afford it. As a result Aubusson has a reputation of being a very expensive luxury item and has a high perceived value amongst knowledgeable customers.
Now the vast majority of Aubusson weaving is done overseas, hand woven by skilled artisans on a loom, just like it was done hundreds of years ago in France, using 100% pure wool or silk.
